In the narrow long corridors (80mx1.60m) of the dementia ward at the St. Jacobs Institution in Amsterdam, I researched how Alzheimer's patients experience their public space. I introduced the timeless, tactile social activity of hanging the laundry together. The personal laundry of the residents added human scale and nostalgic smells of freshness.
